India Design System

Live Website
Bombay Design Centre

An open-source standardised repository of signage, logos and symbols, tailored to develop a unified and consistent design system exclusively for India.

Through India Design System, we aim to help people efficiently navigate and interact with public spaces by creating a standardized system of iconography exclusive to India. An exhaustive catalogue and systematised approach to the usage, design and adaptation of signages which are freely downloadable ranging from government logos to common public symbols, and traffic signs that are essential to social infrastructure in India.

I worked on creating some of the logos/signages etc. along with the product requirements, information architecture, UI (visual) design of the website.

This was designed to cater to a wide audience, so anyone in India could use it. A simple monochromatic website, showing the different logos/signages/icons categorised in different collections with an easy search bar shown upfront, making it easy for the user to find what they needed, and being able to directly download the file in a .svg or .png format, by allowing the user to select the colour in which they needed the file.
